1-5 northbound off-ramp to Franklin Boulevard to close for two years
Starting the week of Oct. 3, crews will close the 1-5 northbound off-ramp to Franklin Boulevard at exit 192 for up to two years to allow construction of the new northbound bridge.
The entrance ramp from eastbound Franklin Boulevard to southbound 1-5 will remain open.Riverview Street connecting to westbound Franklin Boulevard will remain open.Motorists traveling northbound on I-5 will detour to Franklin Boulevard using exit 191 to Glenwood Boulevard. After exiting, drivers should turn right on Glenwood Boulevard to Franklin Boulevard. The detour will be clearly marked.During the closure, crews will reconstruct the off-ramp and raise it more than 5 feet to align with the future northbound bridge.Closing the off-ramp will save three months of construction time on the project schedule, reduce costsby $260,000 and improve safety for workers and travelers.For more information, please contact Rick Little, ODOT Public Information Officer, at (541) 726-2442.For current project updates, please visit www.willamettebridge.org, follow us on Twitter:
